The room had a lovely vintage feel with comfortable bedding. Location next to the Alamo made exploring super easy. The pool area was well-kept, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. Staff friendly and attentive, which enhanced the experience. However, the shower was inconsistent, with temperatures swinging from hot to cold unexpectedly, making it frustrating. The breakfast options were limited, not many choices for those avoiding pork. Valet parking fee of $45 felt steep and should have been highlighted before arrival. Some noise from the street could be heard, which was a bit disruptive at night. Overall, the historic charm and great location stood out, but small inconveniences were disappointing.

I had an excellent stay for a business conference at the Menger. The cozy room in the historic section was comfortable and felt like a little bungalow in the center of the city. The accessibility to the nearby convention center through various pathways was very convenient. The historic bar downstairs is a must-see, with rich stories and pictures depicting the hotel's fascinating past. Impeccable service from check-in to check-out made my stay more enjoyable.

historic bar experience, enchanting garden courtyard, rich historical architecture
Noise levels in rooms!!! Inconsistent heating and cooling systems!!! It's frustrating to be disturbed by neighbors at all hours and then have to adjust constantly for temperature control. A little attention to sound insulation and HVAC would go a long way!!!
